Rob Woodward, M.A.,M.S.
Executive Leadership and Project Management: The Katana team is led by it’s President and Senior Project Manager Rob Woodward with 24 years experience in software engineering, hands-on development and consulting spanning product R&D, applications development, and advanced enterprise systems deployment in several vertical industries including Financial Systems, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Health Care, and Biotechnology.  Recognized as a senior technology executive and consultant Mr. Woodward has served as the CTO of several client and partnering companies during specific product development efforts.  He holds a Bachelors degree in Neurobiology from the University of California Riverside and Masters degrees from USC and Pepperdine in Systems Management, and Clinical Research Methodology/Statistics.  Mr. Woodward also holds the distinction of being a charter member of the prestigious Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute’s program in Software Process Maturity serving as a traveling national consultant for Carnegie Mellon’s software auditing council for 5 years.  Mr. Woodward has held several national level technology board seats including InfoTest, the nation’s leading Internet Commerce Consortium and has served as the national technology committee lead for Reserve Preparers for the nation’s largest community management trade association; CAI.

Uday Sawhney, C.P.A.
Chief Financial Officer: Mr. Sawhney is the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Business Strategist for Katana Software working closely with Rob Woodward to determine and manage all Katana financial, legal, and business partnering and executive client relationships. In addition to his role as a key financial executive, operations manager, and strategist for Katana, Mr. Sawhney is also a full-time practicing Certified Public Accountant with specialized expertise in corporate and personal tax planning and preparation. Mr. Sawhney serves on Advisory Boards for major corporate clients and brings over 25 years of cross-industry business acumen and specific advisory talent at the senior executive and company leadership level.

Mark Goles, M.S.
Systems and Applications Development: The Katana team’s years of project experience have produced a highly evolved and effective systems development methodology led by Director of Systems Development Mark Goles. Mr. Goles has over 16 years experience in complex systems architecture and design, object modeling, and advanced web and n-tier systems development. Mr. Goles is a gifted technology designer and cutting edge developer skilled at hands-on leadership of complex development efforts as well as customer consulting. Mr. Goles personally leads and supervises all software engineering employees and consultants when staffing projects. Mr. Goles holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science from USC, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Pepperdine University, and several technology certifications including Microsoft’s rigorous MCSD and MCSE.

Mark Moreno
Database Administration: Katana Software serves its project and product development systems integration, data migration, development, operations, and maintenance using state-of-the-art large scale server tools such as Microsoft’s SQL Server and Oracle’s Enterprise database products. These responsibility areas are headed by Senior Database Administrator Mark Moreno who brings over 16 years experience in complex n-tier database administration and development team software engineering expertise. Mr. Moreno is skilled in most major database engine toolkits with special emphasis in SQL platforms. He is also a skilled software engineer with certifications in Microsoft Technology development languages including C#, .NET, VB, C++, and C, ASP and other web-based generation toolkits. Mr. Moreno holds Bachelors degrees from San Diego State in Aerospace Engineering and Coleman College in Computer Science.

Karen Goles
Software Quality Assurance: Katana’s Software Quality Assurance efforts have evolved out of the pioneering (1986) Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI) framework for software process maturity (now known as the Capability Maturity Model) as well as the most advanced Microsoft Development Methodology.  This critical area of Katana Software is led by Director of Quality Assurance Karen Goles who brings over 20 years of systems accounting, project planning, software quality assurance, and hands-on software engineering to the job of ensuring all project efforts follow a rigorous life cycle of scope and requirements determination, design prototyping, incremental development, and finally system stabilization/deployment and support.  Ms. Goles manages all internal testing and tracking systems and is key in coordinating all programmer tasking, task hours, and status as well as final product/version release.  Ms. Goles holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from California Lutheran University and a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from California State University at Northridge as well as various project management institute certifications.
